Clean Living

Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God (2 Corinthians 7:1- NLT). And do not bring sorrow to God's Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you (Ephesians 4:30-32 - NLT).

This is going to be an intense year. The pull of the flesh will be stronger than ever. The voice of the world will seek to drown out the voice of God. The enemy will continually make black look white and white look black. Wrong will seem right and right will seem wrong.

Purpose now to cleanse yourself from any and every compromise. If you allow yourself to be tarnished by the compromise of sin, the darkness may well overwhelm you this year. This is a year for our light to be bright, our steps purposeful, and our heart to be very soft to the Lord. While the world will seem to be falling apart, you will be nestled in the secret place of the most high!

Our main focus this year must be winning the unsaved masses. It’s the Father’s passion, it is Jesus’ main ambition. The Father needs truth tells and truth livers. He’s looking to use you for His glory. This may bring persecution and the disdain of those consumed by the attitude of the age. Be willing to be unpopular for the sake of souls, and for the love of the One who bore your sin on His own body on the tree.

Live each day this year as though the rapture will happen in the next few minutes.
This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living. Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don't participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy.Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don't let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires (Rom 13:11-14 - NLT).

  1. Great word Pastor.....
the thought that challenges me is, "will I do (or be doing) this in heaven?"

    Thanks for the insight!
