Stay Prepared!

So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded. Night is the time when people sleep and drinkers get drunk. But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation. For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us (1 Thessalonians 5:6-9 – NLT).

The world is preparing for the return of Christ. We can now see the signs looming of the tribulation that Jesus said would occur before His second coming. It can’t be far away.

Israel is fighting for its existence against enemies that are relentless. This latest war will eventuate into some kind of peace accord that will enable a Palestinian state beside Israel. When this peace accord is signed, the tribulation begins.

Our nation is in great peril, both from within and from without. We’ve lost our world financial standing and it looks as though the worst is yet to come. Our civic life is challenged with ungodly ideals and philosophies that are destroying family life. Moral rot has turned our nation into a cesspool of sin!

Yet our opportunities have never been greater in the church! As the darkness increases our light should shine brighter! People are looking for answers. I believe that we are going to see another spiritual great awakening in our country. Times of duress often bring revival as the desperate look for a way out of their problems!

Let’s believe God for an awakening in the church as a whole, and for many to come to Christ in 2009. I’m looking forward to our service tonight. I’m going to share briefly, and then we’re going to pray together at the altar. Don’t miss this!
