A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:10-12 NLT).
A thief is loose on the earth! He comes to steal and to kill and to destroy. He seek to hinder family and to mar human life. He is the author of tragedy and harm. His presence is malevolent and dark. In his dark, sinister way he seeks the destruction of all that is loving, kind, and good. He seeks to make truth into a lie, and lies into truth. He makes good look bad, and bad look good. He is a master of subterfuge and deception. Millions have fallen for his wicked ploy.
I am personally heartbroken over the death of Britney Hicks. She has been in our church for a number of years. This tragedy was not from God, but from the evil working of our diabolical enemy.
Let me rally us all to prayer, standing against the works of darkness, and binding the enemy from harming any more of our beloved ones. Pray over your family members by name, and hold over them the powerful blood of Jesus, with which we overcome the evil one. Pray for their protection daily, and remind the Lord that you trust the angels of God to keep them safe.
Father, in the name of Jesus, we pray for Britney’s mother Brenda, and her grandmother Dorothy Hicks, and all of their family. Lord, we ask you to strengthen each family member and minister your peace to them in the name of Jesus. We surround them with our faith and with our love. We believe you to be the very present help you promised you would be in our time of need. I also pray for all of Britney’s friends, that you would minister to them and help them in their grief. Draw each one to yourself and help to understand you and your love for them. Show yourself strong as we deal with this in Jesus’ name.

I completely agree! We are living in a time that, more than ever, we need to put on the full armor of Christ. We need to unite together and pray for our youth.
ReplyDeleteOur children are precious and we DO need to plead the blood of Jesus over them every day and pray a hedge of protection....yes we do Pastor Mitch...Amen. I pray that our brothers and sisters put this prayer into action over their children and loved ones.
ReplyDeleteIn speaking with the family, Rachael said it is a time to rejoice that Britney is with our Father. Even though it hurts our hearts here on earth, they are greatful she is in Heaven. As we all are.
Many young lives came to the Lord at Clayton High last night, 5/19/09 as a result of coming together to remember Britney Rachael said. Thank you Jesus!!!
It all works for the good somehow and only our Father and Lord can make that happen, turn the hurt into good, the ugly into something beautiful.
We need to continue to lift the family up in prayer, and not to forget families that still need prayer and support as well.
God Bless
Love, Joy, Peace & Faith
