Prepare Your Heart

Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord (Acts 3:19). And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit (Eph 2:22-NIV).

This is an encouragement for those who attend Victory Fellowship. The Lord is endeavoring to manifest Himself in the atmosphere of our meetings in order to meet the needs of those that attend our services. You can help make the atmosphere conducive the moving of the Holy Spirit in our meetings as you attend.

Here are some practical things you can do to cooperate with the Lord as you attend any meeting of believers. First be aware that the atmosphere of any meeting of people together is determined by the spiritual “temperature” of the group as a whole. If the group of people are as a whole hungry and passionate for God and His best, then the atmosphere will be “warm” spiritually. The Holy Spirit will feel welcomed and will be free to manifest as He desires.

If the “temperature” of the group as a whole is lukewarm, self-serving, and un-interested in the things of God, then the atmosphere of the meeting will be cold and sterile spiritually. And it will be more difficult for the Holy Spirit to manifest as He desires. There are times that I find it easier to minister than others. Sometimes this is due to the spiritual “temperature” of those present.

Secondly, take time to pray and fellowship with the Lord before you attend a service. Ask the Father to manifest Himself. Tell Him that you are hungry for Him and that you want the best that He has for you. Pray for the person ministering, that the Lord would give them utterance, and that the person would be free to minister in the gifting and the anointing that the Lord has for them.

Thirdly, ask the Lord for an open heaven over the meeting place, that is, that the atmosphere would be open to heaven’s best. Command any demonic interference with the meeting to cease in Jesus’ name.

Lastly, keep yourself open for the Lord to use you to minister a Word of prophecy, or to minister encouragement to another in the meeting. Come prepared to receive and have an expectant heart that many will be born again, Spirit-filled, healed, and set free. Jesus, we welcome you in our meetings!
