But now Jesus, our High Priest, has been given a ministry that is far superior to the old priesthood, for he is the one who mediates for us a far better covenant with God, based on better promises (Hebrews 8:6- NLT).
God has entered into covenant with us through Jesus Christ. Our Father is a covenant God. He has entered into a contractual agreement to assume the obligations of our care! God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? (Numbers 23:19).
He will keep the terms of His covenant with us! My covenant I will not break, Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips (Psalm 89:34).
He moved in a sovereign way to place Joseph in Egypt as prime minister during a severe famine. He has His covenant obligations in mind. He made a way to care for Israel those seven years.
His covenant moved Him to split the Red Sea so that Israel could escape from the bondage of a tyrannical Pharaoh!
Supernatural food rained down from the sky overnight for forty years while Israel wandered in a desert. God kept His covenant obligation.
We have an even better covenant! He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? (Romans 8:32). Regardless of how difficult world circumstances become, our Father has His eye on us. His covenant love moves Him to supply our needs.
So as darkness cover the earth, keep looking to His light! He has never forsaken His own! And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom (Luke 12:29-32).
