For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12-NLT).
We need to remember that the things that are going in our nation and world today have a spiritual side to them. Behind natural happenings is the spiritual world. Natural things came from spiritual things. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible (Hebrews 11:3).
Elisha and his servant were surrounded by an enemy army, but in the spirit realm, the angels of God were there to protect them: So one night the king of Aram sent a great army with many chariots and horses to surround the city. When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere. "Oh, sir, what will we do now?" the young man cried to Elisha."Don't be afraid!" Elisha told him. "For there are more on our side than on theirs!" Then Elisha prayed, "O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!" The Lord opened the young man's eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire (2 Kings 6:14-17).
While Daniel was praying for his nation, and angel appeared to him and told him that he had been sent from God with the answer to his prayers but had been hindered: Just then a hand touched me and lifted me, still trembling, to my hands and knees. And the man said to me, "Daniel, you are very precious to God, so listen carefully to what I have to say to you. Stand up, for I have been sent to you." When he said this to me, I stood up, still trembling. Then he said, "Don't be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer. But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me, and I left him there with the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia (Dan 10:10-13 - NLT).
Demonic forces in the unseen spirit realm are currently seeking the demise of our nation and world politically, socially, and economically. We the church of Jesus Christ have authority over these forces of darkness. As we pray for God’s Kingdom to come and for His will to be done, these invisible demonic forces are hindered in their plans to work mischief.
Let’s make sure that we take time every day to command these unseen powers to stop in their operations against the purposes of God. The current uprisings against law enforcement and against law in our nation are rooted in the demonic realm. People that don’t know Jesus are yielding to these unseen forces and are seeking to undermine the rule of law and order. We have the authority in Christ to command them to stop! Let’s do this together. As we pray each day, let’s command these demonic powers to stop in their actions to hinder the rule of law and to hinder peaceful living in this nation.
In the political arena these demonic powers are seeking to make bad look good and good look bad, and they are seeking to create division. They work to make lies look like truth, and to make truth seem ridiculous! Let’s take a bold stand in prayer and command these evil unseen powers to take their hands off of the political arena in the name of Jesus. Let’s ask God for His purposes to be fulfilled in our nation and world.
These demonic forces are attacking believers, seeking to move them to a place of complacency and compromise in all areas of life, and seeking to get believers so busy that they rarely take time for serious prayer. Plead the blood of Jesus every day over yourself and your family. Pray for believers to awaken spiritually and become zealous for Jesus and His Kingdom.
And let’s also pray for the body of Christ to rise up and fulfill God’s purpose and plan for us all over the world. Pray for pastors to speak the Word of God boldly. Let’s ask God for a spirit of repentance to fall on the body of Christ, and for new fervor to walk with God and not compromise. Let’s pray that local churches all over the world would rise up and be salt and light in each community. Let’s together ask God for His power and Spirit to move all over the world as the prophet Joel revealed in Joel 2.
What Elisha told his servant is true of us today. There are more with us than are with them. Let’s ask God for a fresh move of the Holy Spirit throughout the earth, and let’s expect to see people saved, healed, delivered, and set free from the darkness. It’s time for us to arise and shine!
