What Does the Word Do in My Life?

Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day (Psalm 119:97).

Our relationship with Jesus revolves around the Word. Obedience to the Word is obedience to Him. My love for Him is demonstrated by my obedience to His Word!

He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him (John 14:21). Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me (John 14:23-24).

If I say I love Him and do nothing with His Word, I’m self-deceived. Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him (1 John 2:3-5).

Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path (Psalm 119:105). The Word is a lamp. It lightens my immediate life and shows me what to do moment by moment. I should ask myself throughout the day, what does the Word says about this decision, this thing I’m doing, about my attitude or this action.

The Word is a light to my path. He shows me the way He wants me to go in life. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye (Psalm 32:8).

When you practice the Word and delight yourself in the Word, the Father places His desires in you for His plan for your life. The inward desires from Him rise up when you obey His Word. In this way He shows you the path for your life or you could say He shows you His will for your life. Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4).

The Word will sweeten your life. It will renew your mind. It will make you wise and enlighten your eyes in practical ways. The Word will bring great reward to your life. Fall in love with the Word every day. I’ll leave you with this:

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them Your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward. Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, and I shall be innocent of great transgression.  Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer (Psalm 19:7-14).
