Something on the Inside

While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18).

I’ve got something on the inside working on the outside; oh, what a change in my life! This is a line from a praise and worship song we sang years ago. And it’s a powerful truth.

The deposit by the Spirit of God of God’s life in your spirit has began a process of change that will never cease. We are changing from glory to glory. Don’t allow yourself to grow weary in the process! Sometimes if you look at yourself and your own failures, you may think, why am I still dealing with this or that? Don’t go there in your mind! Just keep on walking with God. Acknowledge your weakness so He can empower you with His strength. Then remind yourself of what God’s Word says about you even when it looks like it’s not working!

You Father knows the end from the beginning! You’re called a tree of Righteousness in the Old Testament. It takes a long time to grow tree! The tree endures all kinds of weather during its growing process. It may go through times of storm or drought. Some of its limbs may be affected by pest infestation at times. The growth rings in a tree tell a tale on endurance and hardship, of good time and challenges. But the might tree still stands!

Don’t give up on yourself and don’t give up on the God who placed His seed inside of you. He knew you’d struggle at times. And He’s made provision for your mistakes and misgivings. Always remember that there’s something on the inside working on the outside!
